keep walking by

I think about who I am a lot. I wonder about if I really am just like everyone else out there or maybe there's something different about me. I think about why I have these weird habits and why I think the way I do. Most of the time I am thinking about the flaws of myself and how much in common me and humanity have with each other. I've decided that I want to grow out of that; of the things that WE have in common with each other. It makes me sad to think that I do everything that everyone else does in this world. We all make stupid decisions to cheat, steal, judge, hate, break, throw lie...etc. We all like t.v., internet, talking about ourselves[[perfect example eh?]], listening to music; just taking ourselves away from reality. But then I realized that each of us is striving for the same exact thing but in different weird ways. The whole of the population strives to feel wholesome, complete, loved, at peace, calm, together. We all are looking for God even though we don't know it. And the craziest part of it all is that each of us looks straight passed Him every single second of our lives.

Whew! Wow. Yeah....sigh. Thank God He is so merciful, eh?

Did you just write that you were 16 years old????? Holy mackerel, girl - you sure do some heavy thinking. I like that about people your age!!! I wish you were in my Sunday school class or something like that so we could sit down and have a really good 'chat'.

"I wonder about if I really am just like everyone else out there..."

To a certain extent, we are all like everyone else 'out there' when it comes to stages of development I think. But I do think that in many internal ways, we are different in how that development acts itself out. The fact that you are so aware of your habits is different IMHO. I think some people are not aware of that sort of thing. Perhaps that is because you have a family that is 'thoughtful' and talks about those types of things, maybe? I dunno. I know I was not aware when I was 16, but I did not have a family that was aware of any of those types of things.

Once I left home to marry and have children, I was blessed to have a husband who was emotionally aware of himself and those around him. (He did a lot of psych, philosophy, and sociology classes in college and seminary. He's a 'humanities' guy.) Thus, my self-awareness grew over time and that kind of stuff was often topics of discussion at the dinner table and on long drives in the car with the kids. Now we are all pretty introspective. That has its pluses and minuses.

Take one thing at a time Kenzy. Pick one habit that you want to change and work on it little by little. The friends around you may have a little struggle with your deciding to change - but tough on them! LOL! Perhaps you will be a trendsetter! Now...that would be way cool!

And forgive me for the lateness of this but:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR KENZY!
HAPPY BIRTHDAAAAAYYYY TOOOO YOOU!
