Yes compassion is good but there is a line to draw in the sand when compassion turns into enabling the person to continue to wallow in their self-pity. Where that line is can only be determined by you with guidance by someone who is not emotionally involved in the relationship.<BR/><BR/>You need to make sure that you take time for yourself to regroup and get some fresh air. Running is good. Not talking to the self-pitying person for a few days is good too. Bubble baths are nice. So are good books [(mysteries are my fav as well as Katherine Kurtz' Deryni Series (sci-fi fantasy)].<BR/><BR/>As for the bunion surgery, all I can say is MAJOR OUCH.
